Each playback is equipped with eight preset slots, each capable of holding a single preset. When a playback is activated, all the presets loaded into these slots will run.
Please Note: The preset slots are organized from left to right with slots 1 to 4 located on the top row and slots 5 to 8 on the bottom row. Control values are processed sequentially from slot 1 through 8. In cases where multiple presets affect the same control, the control’s final value is determined by the last slot applied.
Slot Assignment
Create a New Preset in a Slot
If a preset slot is empty, you can create a brand new preset in the slot by following the steps below:
Select the playback(s) where you would like to add the new preset.
Locate an empty slot and click on the slot’s Add button. This will create a new preset in the slot and launch the preset editor.
Select the playback(s) where you would like to remove the preset.
Locate the preset in the preset slots.
Click the preset slot’s Eject button.
Preset Slot Controls
Preset slots can be selected by clicking on them. Once a slot is selected, you gain access to various controls to adjust the loaded preset’s properties.
Intensity
The intensity control enables you to adjust the maximum brightness of the preset from 0% to 100%.
Direction
The direction control allows you to change the order that the preset’s steps are executed. You can adjust the order using the following options:
Forwards: Executes the steps sequentially from the first to the last.
Backwards: Runs the steps in reverse order, starting from the last to the first.
Forwards/Backwards: Alternates the playback order, first moving forwards from the first step to the last, then reversing through the steps back to the first.
Random: Plays the steps in a random order, providing a unique sequence each time the preset is activated.
Please Note: Direction will only be applied to presets containing more than one step.
Loop
Activating the loop control allows the steps within a preset to continuously repeat until the playback is stopped.
Please Note: The loop function is disabled for playbacks configured with the “oneshot” action type. In such cases, the steps will execute only once and not loop.
Speed
Adjust the speed at which the preset operates with the speed control options. Available speed settings include:
1/8: Slows down the preset to one-eighth of its original speed.
1/4: Reduces the speed to one-quarter of the normal rate.
1/2: Halves the speed of the preset.
x1: Plays the preset at its normal speed.
x2: Doubles the speed of the preset.
x4: Quadruples the speed, for a faster execution.
x8: Increases the speed to eight times faster than the standard rate.
Pro Tip: If you can’t achieve the desired preset speed using the slot’s speed controls, try editing the preset directly and adjust the step durations or FX speeds. Keep in mind that editing the preset directly will affect all playbacks where the preset is used.
Crossfade
The crossfade control adjusts the duration of crossfade between each step in the preset, allowing for smoother transitions. This can be set in 5% increments, providing precise control over transitions:
0%: With a crossfade value of 0%, no crossfade is applied, resulting in instant transitions.
50%: At 50%, the crossfade extends for half the duration of each step.
100%: At 100%, the crossfade lasts the entire duration of the step.
Adjusting the crossfade control allows you to customize the fluidity of preset transitions in 5% increments.
Please Note: Each step within a preset can be configured with its own individual crossfade setting to create sequences with varied transition effects. During playback, the highest crossfade value from the preset slot or the step will be used. For example, if a preset slot has a 50% crossfade but the preset’s current step has a 100% crossfade, the final crossfade will be 100%.
Pro Tip: If a preset’s fade-in is too fast even when set to a 100% crossfade, consider slowing down the preset’s speed to create a longer transition. Alternatively, you can extend the preset’s step duration in the preset editor. Keep in mind that editing the preset directly will affect all playbacks where the preset is used.
