Live View

The live view is your central command hub in Showglo Plugin during live performances, providing access to all of your lighting cues. In this section, we’ll delve into the various components that you will interact with during a show.

Live View

Fast Playbacks

The fast playbacks are your quick-access controls for frequently used show elements. These playbacks are always visible in the live view, regardless of the current bank or page. These 8 playbacks are equipped with a fader and an on/off switch. The fast playbacks master section features an on/off switch and a fader for global control.

Fast Playbacks

You have flexibility to use the fast playbacks section in two ways:

  • Independent Control: The fast playbacks section can operate completely independently from the main section acting as a separate lighting controller.
  • Linked Control: Alternatively, you can link the fast playbacks to the main master section. In this case, the main master fader and blackout controls will also affect the fast playbacks’ output levels.

You can configure the fast playbacks section by navigating to Setting > Playbacks > Fast Playbacks.

Playbacks

The playbacks section is the heart of Showglo Plugin’s control, providing access to all of your lighting cues and effects.

Playback Controls

Playback

Each of the 40 playback controls features a dedicated fader for precise level control and a configurable button that offers three distinct trigger modes: momentary, latch, and oneshot.

For more information on the trigger modes, head over to the playback page.

The 40 playbacks in each bank are divided into pages of 8.

Page of playbacks

To navigate between different pages, you can click on one of the 5 page buttons at the bottom. Each button provides a visual representation of the page so you can see the status of all the playbacks at a glance.

Bank Navigation

To manage complex light shows, the bank selector provides access to 36 banks, each containing 40 playbacks. This allows you to organize all of your lighting cues into different banks for each part of your show.

Bank Selector

The bank selector displays the current bank’s name and offers convenient up and down buttons to cycle through the banks. Clicking on the bank name opens the bank selector panel providing quick access to all banks.

Automated Bank Selection

Bank selection can be automated by sending a MIDI note to Showglo Plugin on channel 16. Each bank has it’s own MIDI note starting with bank 1 on MIDI note 0 (C-2). The MIDI note for the current bank is displayed at the top of the bank selector.

Here’s a table outlining the MIDI notes used for each bank:

Drag & Drop Bank Automation

To make bank automation even easier, you can drag & drop a MIDI clip directly into your DAW using the note name widget at the top of the bank selector. The MIDI clip will contain the correct note to select the current bank.

Haze Controls

Haze Controls

Since many performances require atmospheric effects like haze or fog, we’ve placed dedicated controls on the live screen. This ensures quick access for checking and fine-tuning during the show.

You can configure the Haze section by navigating to Settings > Haze. Check out the haze settings page for more details.

Tempo Indicator

Tempo Controls

Showglo Plugin uses the global tempo value from your DAW to precisely sync your lighting effects to the beat or rhythm of the music. This affects the timing of all playbacks, ensuring a synchronized and immersive lighting experience.

The tempo indicator flashes to indicate each beat and the numerical Beats Per Minute (BPM) is displayed underneath.
